Once in a dream
I was swinging on a swing
I fell down and cut open my knee
I drowned in my blood and tears
And when I stopped breathing
I woke up in my bed screaming
I can't do anything
But there was something in that dream
That made me think
I could conquer anything
And when that something
Faded to a memory
I killed who I used to be
And wanted to believe

Dead air phone calls meant
That ghosts were around
They'd melt from your eyes
And crawl on the ground
Aliens exist
And they live in our town
They take you swimming in the light
And wait for you to drown

Once in a dream
We were laying around
Your back was on the ceiling and mine was on the ground
You told me goodbye my friend
They're coming for me now
I woke up in my bed alone
With You nowhere to be found
But there was something in that dream
That made me think someday
You might return to me
And when that something
Wasn't happening
I burned down my house
Shouting "I want to believe!"

That you are around
You are the static on my tv
You are my favorite sound
Aliens exist
I swear they're everywhere now
They know I know who they are
Because they never ever frown

There was something that led me to believe
That I could conquer almost anything
I thought I could find you
I thought I could somehow
But now your face is plastered
All over our town
Hope is running thin
No one remembers you now
You're just a dream in my mind
And a ghost never to be found
